Starting next week, I will be handling blog comments (from my end) a bit differently. I will be blogging on MY blog instead of commenting on your blogs individually. I really think that it is pertinent that you as students have interaction with one another and provoke thought in each other instead of interacting with me. Although I enjoy interacting with y'all, I get to interact with each of you during office hours and through email quite a bit. So, you will see me commenting on your blogs on my blog on both Tuesday's and Thursday's, so check my blog often. I will rarely comment on your blogs from this point forward, although I must admit, I do LOVE reading what y'all have to say.
As a reminder, your OUTLINES ARE DUE by Monday, September 22 by 10am. You need to email me your outlines, which I will grade, give you feedback and then email back to you. The reason why your outlines are due before the speech is because if there are any issues with the outline (which plans your speech), you can have some feedback so there are no gross deviations from the assignment requirements. Please DO NOT wait until the last minute to turn in your papers. If there is an internet problem or submission problem and you end up turning your paper in late, you will receive a reduction in your grade no matter the excuse. I will be looking at the TIME down to the minute when papers are submitted. So please do me a favor, and yourself a favor, turn your papers in early.
There is an OUTLINE WORKSHEET that can be located on the Handouts Page on blackboard AND on the WRITING PAGE on blackboard. You should use this worksheet as a planner to make sure you have ALL components of the assignment complete. PLEASE REVIEW THE WRITING PAGE for submission parameters for your outlines. There are very specific instructions that need to be followed for submission.
OUR CLASS MEETINGS ARE MANDATORY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! OUR FIRST MEETING WILL BE ON FRIDAY, SEPTEMBER 26th FROM 12:00pm TO 5:00ppm. You MUST be present for the entire class session in order to receive credit for participation for that day. These class sessions have been in the schedule since the first day of the semester, so make accommodations accordingly to attend the ENTIRE class session.
Check my blog this week for tips on the outline/first speech, and of course for my comments about your blog posts.
